The Russell Hotel
Once home to the Edgefield Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the grand Romanesque property at the corner of Russell and South Ninth streets in East Nashville was reborn in 2019 as The Russell, a concept-driven hotel with vibrant design elements that reflect the neighborhood's creative spirit, along with historic touchstones that pay homage to the building's 1904 beginnings.

Our Process
In the typical design bid build process, the project owner negotiates a complex web of interconnected contracts. They must select Architects, Interior Designers, Engineers, Consultants, Permitting Specialists, Owner Representatives, General Contractors, Furniture Procurement Specialists and other third-party stakeholders.
This is often a confusing, frustrating and, above anything else, a risky way of working. This is why Powell uses an entirely different project delivery method that we call the Design-Build Process
